During this time of uncertainty, if you find that you need support but are self isolating or anxious about leaving the house, online counselling may provide an excellent alternative to face to face sessions during the pandemic.

Remember to ‘love yourself’ this Valentine’s Day and don’t get preoccupied by unrealistic expectations of the perfect relationship.

For many, the thought of February 14th conjures up images of romantic meals-for-two, elaborate bunches of flowers and couples sharing gifts and cards.

This can pil...

During the festive period, the messages we receive tell us this is the ‘most wonderful time of the year.’

This might be true for many of us, but I also know from my own experiences and from my work with clients that the reality can be quite different. The holiday season can magnify feelings of l...

The customs of Halloween may seem irrelevant from the work of counsellors in the therapy room. Nevertheless there may be occasions when I may have to support clients who are frightened by spectres. My role is to help clients reach a place where their demons are exorcised, the frightening masks re...

Telling someone you’re struggling with suicidal thoughts is the first step to getting the support you deserve. Remember, we are all worthy of help and support.

Having the opportunity to tell someone what it feels like to be you, without the need to airbrush, edit, or disguise, can provide immense relief. Through sitting and listening to people describe their inner and outer lives, I have witnessed first-hand the positive impact of feeling heard. Mental ...

I can't recommend Carla enough, she provides a really calm and compassionate safe space to share how you're feeling where you know you will never be judged or criticised. She is such a warm person and has loads of techniques and support to help you feel better. Thank you for all the help you've given me x

Carla firstly made being able to speak to her so accessible for me and worked around my training, so I was able to speak to her via skype. Carla made me feel safe and I have been able to understand what had been going on with me. I can now say, because of Carla, I am able to face it alone but always knowing she is there in case I need her. I would recommend Carla to anyone who needs help and support. Carla is amazing and I have a lot to thank her for.

Carla is the first therapist I’ve been to that has made me comfortable and safe. The things she has help me overcome are things I never thought I’d move past and for that I will always be grateful to her. She’s amazing at what she does and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Together we can find a solution

I have over 10 years experience. Specialising in Anxiety & Depression, Relationship Problems & Negative Thinking. I am a registered member of the BACP and my credentials can be viewed upon request.

Training as a Humanistic, Existential Counsellor the majority of my clients come to me because they feel they've lost direction, question the point to life, are struggling with anxiety or stress and a feeling of general dissatisfaction in life.

I successfully help my clients get in a better headspace & overcome the things that hold them back.

My approach to counselling is very much a two way conversation compared to some approaches that are more neutral whereby the counsellor is more a reflective sounding board.

Therapy works in many ways: In essence we look at obstacles that might be holding you back, looking at patterns of behaviour, negative thinking, self sabotage, stresses and strains, unresolved issues, and discovering what you want in Life in order to find Happiness!

Common issues people come to see me about are:

Anxiety, Relationship issues, Feeling Sad, Panic disorders, Family issues, Depression, Low Self Esteem, Stress, Anger, Panic Attacks, Postnatal Issues, OCD, Low Self Esteem & Confidence, Parenting, Abuse, Bereavement, Trauma, Weight, Health, Sexuality, Family issues, Separation & Divorce, Childhood experiences, work issues, Self Harm, Sabotaging behaviours, Negative Thinking, Feelings of helplessness, suicidal thoughts, and many more.

Counselling Practice:

I provide a warm homely welcoming environment.

Qualified Psychotherapist Person Centred, Humanistic, Existential with 13 Years Experience 9 years post qulification.

Experience in Mindfulness, CBT, TA, Humanistic Therapy.

I attend regular CPD days to enhance my training and keep it relevant.

I believe that access to a good Counselling service can be hard to come by, with waiting times on the NHS sometimes exceeding 12 weeks. I understand that private therapy can be costly so I do offer some concessions to those in hardship. Everybody has a right to be heard.
